Coach Beldine Odemba names 23-player Harambee Starlets squad for 2025 CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship

The regional tournament will serve as a crucial warm-up ahead of Kenya’s final round qualifier for the 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) against The Gambia.
Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba has named a 23-player squad set to represent Kenya at the 2025 CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship, scheduled to take place from 12 to 22 June in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The regional tournament will serve as a crucial warm-up ahead of Kenya’s final round qualifier for the 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) against The Gambia. The Starlets are aiming to make a return to the continental stage, having last featured at WAFCON in 2016.

Among the standout inclusions in the squad are Kibera Soccer Ladies midfielder Medina Abubakar Hussein and Vihiga Queens forward Swaum Nanjaka Masungo, both of whom have received their maiden senior team call-ups.
The team is expected to report to residential training camp on the evening of Monday, 10 June, before travelling to Tanzania the following day.
Coach Odemba will use the CECAFA tournament to assess the team’s chemistry and match readiness, as she builds towards a strong performance both in the regional competition and the high-stakes WAFCON qualifier.
